Our Vision

Rich Nature, Our Dream envisions a Mongolia that is green and thriving — a land with fresh air, fertile soil, and a living landscape to pass on to future generations. Through our pioneering efforts, we hope to inspire action at every level. Each tree planted, each patch of green restored, is a step toward lasting change.

Why Revegetation Matters

For a nation where nearly one-third of people live as nomads, land restoration is not just environmental work — it's cultural survival.

The Challenge We Face

Over 70% of Mongolia's land is now classified as degraded. Heavy grazing, driven by millions of livestock and increasing goat populations for the cashmere industry, has stripped the soil bare. Combined with the intensifying effects of climate change — to which Mongolia is two to three times more vulnerable than the global average — the land's health is rapidly declining.

Without urgent intervention, Mongolia risks losing not only its grasslands but also the rich cultural heritage and ecosystem services that depend on healthy land.

Our Journey

The Beginning

RNOD's essential idea was born from a curiosity about straw checkerboard applicability and potential on Mongolian land. The NGO was established following the founder Yesvy's involvement in the MCN and Coachtopia programmes, which sparked a vision for science-driven grassland restoration in Mongolia.

Growing Movement

Our first pilot project was completed in November 2025 in Nalaikh, Mongolia. We have also collected research and soil data across multiple provinces, and reached a Memorandum of Understanding with the Mongolian Cooperative Training and Information Center, building partnerships that strengthen our restoration efforts.

Tomorrow

In summer 2026, we are planning to implement a pilot project of the straw checkerboard method in the desertified Gobi region, Mongolia, testing its effectiveness and suitability for large-scale restoration. This will be complemented by the production of scientific research to document findings and guide future expansion.
